12/19/05 Triborough Bridge Gearing Up for Multipower Systems!
MHE recently completed the installation of (2), MPP3’s for the MTA, Triborough Bridge* & Tunnel Authority, in New York City. These Multipower Systems were installed on the GMC C7500 chassis (33,000GVWR), equipped with the Allison 3500 RDS, automatic transmission.
The MPP3 will provide TBTA work crews with simultaneous, air (185cfm), electric, (9,000 Watts) and hydraulic power (3, fully adjustable tool circuits), for continuous duty use, from a single platform. Doing so enables them to bring all the power they need to the worksite, and yet maintain a small worksite “footprint”, critical in NYC traffic.
These chassis’ were shipped to Thiele Industries Inc., in Windber, PA, for installation of the service body, hose reels, and other items. From there, the completed trucks will be delivered to the Multipower Systems dealer in NYC (Trius Equipment) for final inspection and then delivered to MTA.
Power capabilities of TBTA Trucks -- Equipped with MPP3 ("Three Function" Multipower Pack)
- Air Compressor: 185 CFM
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-15gpm
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-15gpm
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-30gpm
- Hydraulic Generator: 9,000 Watts
Note:
The “Triborough Bridge” is actually (7) bridges and (2) tunnels located throughout NYC. (Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx)
