MHE is pleased to have sponsored Sam Swearngin (fleet manager at the City of Kansas City, MO) in the 2006 MS-150, an annual fund-raising ride to support finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. This year's ride was on Sept 11th, and started in Lee's Summit, MO. The MS-150 is a 2-day ride. Day 1 for most people was approximately 86 miles, finishing in Sedalia, MO, but Sam chose the "Century Ride" for Day 1, completing 100 miles. He finished the remaining 50 miles on Day 2, in Knob Noster, MO, along with 1,469 other riders. Most importantly, Sam was able to raise $2,363 for Multiple Sclerosis, ranking him 37th (out of 1,469!!!) in overall fundraising; the top 3%! Even more impressive, his team ("The Saint Francis Xavier Flying Fish", a first year team) raised just over $10,000, earning them the "Rookie of the Year, Top Pledge Average" award, and a top-10 spot among the other teams! Hat's off to you Sam! We're proud to support you, and the "SFX Flying Fish!", in trying to help find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis!
