City of Independence Takes Delivery of First Multipower Pack
MHE recently delivered the very first 4532P, multipower pack to the City of Independence, MO.
The unit was installed on an F-550 with a standard transmission, and 6liter diesel engine, which the City purchased from Shawnee Mission Ford
Performance Specs of F-550
- 17,500 GVWR (189" Wheelbase, 108" Cab-to-Axle)
- 6.0L Power Stroke V-8 turbo diesel engine (325HP, 570ft-lbs torque)
- 6-speed manual overdrive transmission with PTO provision
The City transfered the Omaha Standard service body and crane to the new truck from an existing truck.
Power capabilities of this Vehicle (Equipped with 4532P)
- Air Compressor: 185 CFM
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-15gpm
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-30gpm
- Hydraulic Generator: 9,000 Watts
The 4532P will provide City work crews (Water Department) with simultaneous, air (185cfm), electric, (9,000 Watts) and hydraulic power (2, fully adjustable tool circuits), for continuous duty use, from a single platform. This enables them to bring all the power they need to the worksite with less equipment.
Indepence Water will use the air capability to operate jackhammers, impacts, boring equipment, etc, and they'll use the electric to operate lights, fusion machines, etc.
Prior to incorporating the 4532P into their fleet, the City didn't use any hydraulic tools. Now that they have the ability to operate them, they plan to use (most likely) water pumps, impacts, breakers, and tamps.
Close-Up of 4532P
MHE custom built the storage rack between the powerpack and the body so that work crews would have a convenient place to store tools, parts, and miscellaneous equipment. Like the 4532P, the rack was powercoat painted to ensure maximum durability.
