IL DOT puts another HIPPO into service
The Illinois Dept. of Transportation recently put their newest HIPPO into
service for District #2 (in Dixon, IL). This is a "Bridge Maintenance" truck
that will be sandblasting, cutting concrete, welding, doing joint repairs,
bridge-deck patching, bridge jacking, handrail repair, maintenance, bridge-cleaning, etc.

To accomplish so many diverse tasks, a broad & diverse set of tools is required. Work
crews use jackhammers, saws, drills, hammer-drils, impacts, welders & cutting torches. And
to operate that many different types of tools from a single truck requires
