07/17/06 NYC DEP Takes Delivery of Multipower Regulator Truck
MHE recently delivered the newest addition to the NYC Dept of Environmental Protection (DEP) to Trius Equipment. Trius will finish the installation, and then deliver to DEP. This is the first of three units for the Dept.
Cab & Chassis:
- Sterling Acterra, 20,940 GVWR
- Mercedes Benz Engine
- Allison Automatic Transmission
The Body is a custom, Omaha Standard service Body... Hydraulic hose reels are mounted in both rear corners of the body.
This is a true, "MultiPower" vehicle, in line with MHE's unique, multipower niche in the marketplace. The truck is equipped with:
- Combination underdeck air compressor (185cfm) and 6KW electric generator
- (2) 10gpm hydraulic tool circuits.
All can be operated simultaneously, per the requirements of DEP.
Other special features include:
- Liftmore, 5,000lb hydraulic crane (Model 2550) link to specs
- Custom "cone storage rack", powder-coat painted for maximum durability
- Ladder storage box
- Multiple strobes, arrow board, and LED's
- Customized (external) rack for heat exchangers located over cab
- Omaha Standard through compartment with roll-up doors
- Slide-out Wachs machine (model# 7-000-NY, specifically made for NYC-DEP) for valve turning
MHE is currently in the process of building two more trucks for DEP which are identical to this one.
