01/24/06 Miami, FL Implements Multipower Systems!
MHE just completed the installation of an MPP3 for the Miami-Dade, Water & Sewer, in Miami, FL. This is their first Multipower System, and was installed on a "Crew Cab", Sterling Acterra Chassis (33,000GVWR), equipped with the Allison 3500 RDS, automatic transmission with PTO provision. Chassis was sold by Atlantic Truck Center.
Powered by the Acterra's 230HP, CAT C7 diesel engine, the MPP3 will provide Miami-Dade work crews with simultaneous, air (185cfm), electric, (9,000 Watts) and hydraulic power (3, fully adjustable tool circuits), for continuous duty use, from a single platform. Doing so enables them to bring all the power they need to the worksite, and yet maintain a small worksite “footprint”, critical in Miami traffic.
This chassis was shipped to Rowland Truck Equipment, Inc., for installation of the Reading, "canopy style" service body, and other items. From there, the completed trucks will be delivered to Miami-Dade.
Power capabilities of this Vehicle (Equipped with MPP3 -- "Three Function" Multipower Pack)
- Air Compressor: 185 CFM
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-15gpm
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-15gpm
- Hydraulic tool circuit with 0-30gpm
