City of Lincoln, NE Purchases First Ever 2022P MultiPower Pack
The City of Lincoln, Nebraska is the proud owner of the very first 2022P Multipower Pack. And by the very first, we mean the very *FIRST* 2022P. For them, or for us!
Professional "MudJockeys" Steve Bozak (L) and Brian Ems (R)
The Challenge
This unit was designed for Jim Chiles, and the City of Lincoln Water Department. They needed the unit to be able to sit on the side of a 20" wide service body, so it wouldn't take up any space in the truck bed, and it needed to run off the engine of the truck rather than have it's own engine. Additionally, it needed to have (2) 0-10gpm hydraulic tool circuits (to operate hydraulic tools like water pumps and concrete saws) and a 4KW generator, which will be used primarily for operating lights. We were told that sometimes, they might need to run the generator AND the hydraulic tools at the same time, so simultaneous power was another requirement. And just to keep us on our toes, we had to leave room to mount a hydraulic hose reel.

The Answer
The 2022P met every single one of these requirements:
- Hydraulic Power = TWO (2) 0-10gpm hydraulic tool circuits
- Electric Power = ONE (1) 4000 Watt generator
- Engines running at the worksite = 1
- Space taken up in back of truck = 0
- The 2022P, like all HIPPO units, is designed to run multiple tools, simultaneously, for continuous duty operation.
With the 2022P, the work crew can operate a hydraulic tool and the generator or two hydraulic tools simultaneously. The City wanted the control panel mounted streetside, on the unit, but it could have been mounted anywhere on the body, to include inside any of the body compartments. And as the picture below shows, no bed space is compromised with the addition of the 2022P MultiPower Pack. We even had room to mount that hose reel!
The 2022P does not take up any room in the body/bed of the truck
While the City looked forward to the ability to have a single truck on a jobsite that can operate multiple tools at the same time (Thus freeing up other trucks to do other jobs) MHE is excited about entering a new market with the 2022P and the soon to be unveiled 2032P (which has an 80cfm air compressor). These "20-series" MultiPower Packs are designed to run off of trucks such as the 2006 F-450 seen in these pictures. Not only will these PowerPacks enable clients like the City of Lincoln to bring power and tools to the jobsite with only one truck, they also provide increased convenience and safety at an extremely economical price point.
The chassis is a 16,000 GVWR, 2006 Ford-F450, with a 6.0L diesel engine, and 5-speed, Torqshift automatic transmission with PTO provision. Matt Friend Truck equipment, our dealer, installed the Omaha Standard body and the Liftmoore 3200REE-15 crane.
Jackhammers, Water Pumps, Cut-Off Saws...the 2022P offers tremendous power in a very small package!
